Purple Fever Takes Over!

Lynne & Colin Grainger, parents of Paul who is a student at the David Lewis College, responded to our Purple Plea by holding a car boot sale, selling purple cards and selling some items on Ebay.

James Shaw’s mum, Jayne, raised a fantastic £500 by holding a Purple Coffee and Cupcakes event.  She raffled off some lovely ‘purple goodies’ and provided delicious refreshments all against a back drop of a purple flax field!  Jayne said ‘it was hard work but worth it for the fantastic david lewis centre’ and she has pledged to do something again next year.

A big thank you to Mrs Coster for responding to our ‘Purple Plea’.  Her daughter, Helen, lives in one of our Community Houses.  Mrs Coster writes:“We held a Purple coffee morning at the Salvation Army Hall (which Helen attends with myself when she comes home for stays), in Pill, a village in North Somerset near Bristol. We raised £200 from the sale of cakes and pens, cards and bookmarks and donations from Helen's friends and family

Regular supporter, Viv Cunningham, raised £105 by simply inviting a few friends round for dinner.  She asked them to wear something purple and make a donation to David Lewis instead of bringing wine, flowers or chocolates.

High Flyer
Regular David Lewis supporter, Lawrence Brown from Wilmslow, took to the skies this August to raise money for our Get Set Go! Campaign. After a long wait to get airborne, and a very nervous start, Lawrence thoroughly enjoyed his experience and managed to raise over £550.

If you’d like the chance to sky dive for free and raise money for David Lewis, give Linda a call on 01565 640009, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Makeover Team from Royal London

30 volunteers from Royal London, Wilmslow donned their wellies and waterproofs to transform our landbased skills area. Fence painting, clearing rubbish, cutting hedges, weeding and digging over allotments- they tackled it all! Working alongside some of our adult service users, they made a huge difference in such a short space of time.
