The Sunshine Club Campaign
Thanks to the generous support of many people, the refurbishment of the Sunshine Club is now complete and all the facilities are back in use. Our people love the new rooms which are bright, airy and colourful and provide great use of the space available.
The new kitchen creates a fantastic space for learning independent cooking skills. Features such as adjustable height worktops meant that wheelchair users can get involved in cooking too.
The sunlounge has folding doors to open onto the garden and is a great space for socialising and relaxing ( or even an afternoon snooze!)
The sensory room has a range of specialist equipment which makes it a wonderful space for those with complex needs.
The club is also sporting a new name- JD's- in memory of John Dudley who sadly died last year and left a legacy to David Lewis which has helped fund the refurbishment project.  John was a resident at David Lewis for 56 years and is most famous for his entertaining conversation with the Countess of Wessex on her last visit.
Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising campaign and made this possible.
